Chitosan-Immobilized Palladium Complex:A Green and Highly Active Heterogeneous Catalyst for Heck Rea
A green heterogeneous catalyst for Heck reaction-chitosan-immobilized palladium complex was prepared.The catalyst exhibits high activity and stereoselectivity under the moderate reaction conditions.The catalyst can be separated easily from the reaction mixture and reused after washing. Under the suitable reaction conditions,the cross-coupling of iodobenzene(ArI)with acrylic acid(AA)or acrylate can be achieved 93.3% or 99% yield of trans-cinnamic acid or trans-cinnamic ester.

Effect of vacuum impregnation on the performance of Co/SiO2 Fischer-Tropsch catalyst
Two silica-supported cobalt catalysts were prepared by incipient wetness impregnation under atmospheric and vacuum conditions.N2 physisorption,H2 chemisorption,XRD,SEM,TEM,XPS and H2-TPR were used to characterize the catalysts.The results showed that the impregnation methods had an effect on the size,dispersion and reducibility of cobalt particles.Under vacuum conditions,cobalt-containing steeping liquor could penetrate into the inner pores of silica support and more bivalent cobalt oxides were formed in the Co3O4 crystallites.Furthermore,cobalt precursors were rarely inclined to agglomerate and the smaller cobalt particles were uniform on the support,which led to the higher activity of the Co/SiO2 (B) catalyst than the normal one under the reaction conditions of 483-523 K,1-2 MPa,gas hourly space velocity of 500-1000 h-1 and molar ratio of H2/CO =0.5-2.0.

An efficient magnesium bistrifluoromethanesulfonimide [Mg(NTf2)2] catalyzed hydroalkylation of aromatic olefins with 1,3-diketones under solvent-free conditions has been developed. The reactions proceed smoothly to give the desired products in good yields in short reaction times.

A Novel Cu-Mo/ZSM-5 Catalyst for NOx Catalytic Reduction with Ammonia
The Cu-Mo/ZSM-5 catalysts with different Cu/Mo ratios were prepared by wet impregnation method, and their catalytic performance for selective catalytic reduction of NOx was studied. The results showed that Cu-Mo/ZSM-5 is a very effective catalyst for NOx catalytic reduction with ammonia, especially when Cu/Mo molar ratio is about 1.5. It not only exhibited the extremely high catalytic activity, but also showed good stability for O2. The bulk phase structure of Cu-Mo/ZSM-5 catalysts was determined by XRD technique, and the results indicated that there is a maximum dispersion for Cu species when Cu/Mo molar ratio is 1.5, and an interaction between Cu and Mo along with HZSM-5 may be present in Cu-Mo/ZSM-5, which may possibly result in a special structure favorable for the catalytic reduction of NOx over Cu-Mo/ZSM-5 catalyst.

Preparation of L-Butyl Lactate via Transesterification by Using Nafion-H Catalyst
Optically pure L-butyl lactate was synthesized by normal transesterification using nafion-H catalyst in moderate yield. Various reaction conditions were investigated, including the reaction temperature, reaction time, ratio of the starting material and amount of the nafion catalyst.

Reaction Chemistry of W-Mn/SiO2 Catalyst for the Oxidative Coupling of Methane
Reaction chemistry of the OCM reaction on W-Mn/SiO2 catalyst has been reviewed in thisaccount. Initial activity and selectivity, stability in a long-term reaction, reaction at elevated pressures anda modelling test in a stainless-steel fluidized-bed reactor show that W-Mn/SiO2 has promising performancefor the development of an OCM process that directly produces ethylene from natural gas. A study onsurface catalytic reaction kinetics and used catalyst structure characterization revealed a possible reasonwhy C2 and COx selectivity changed during the long-term reaction. Further improvement of the catalystcomposition and preparation method should be a future direction of study on OCM reaction over W-Mn/SiO2 catalyst.

Methane Conversion Using Dielectric Barrier Discharge: Comparison with Thermal Process and Catalyst
The direct conversion of methane using a dielectric barrier discharge has been experimentally studied. Experiments with different values of flow rates and discharge voltages have been performed to investigate the effects on the conversion and reaction products both qualitatively and quantitatively.Experimental results indicate that the maximum conversion of methane has been 80% at an input flow rate of 5 ml/min and a discharge voltage of 4 kV. Experimental results also show that the optimum condition has occurred at a high discharge voltage and higher input flow rate. In terms of product distribution, a higher flow rate or shorter residence time can increase the selectivity for higher hydrocarbons. No hydrocarbon product was detected using the thermal method, except hydrogen and carbon. Increasing selectivity for ethane was found when Pt and Ru catalysts presented in the plasma reaction. Hydrogenation of acetylene in the catalyst surface could have been the reason for this phenomenon as the selectivity for acetylene in the products was decreasing.
